Matt Castillo explains why the New York Knicks are allergic to a winning streak in the latest edition of ESN Video.
On December 20, the New York Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers. Then on December 22, the Knicks defeated the Orlando Magic. Why is this important? It was the last time the New York Knicks won back to back games.
These were the good times for the Knicks this season. They looked like a team that was destined to make the playoffs. At this time, the Knicks were fourth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Boy, have things changed. Since Christmas, the Knicks have a 12-27 record and have fallen to the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference.
For the fans, watching the Knicks not being able to put together a winning streak has to be torture. The Knicks this past Tuesday put together a great team performance vs the Pacers.
They displayed stellar defense holding the Pacers to score just 81 points. Also, they rallied from 13-point deficit to win the game.
Not to mention the big fourth quarter that Carmelo Anthony had. He struggled shooting in the game. In fact, during the first three quarters he had just seven points. But in the fourth, he exploded, dropping 15 points that gave him 22 for the game.
However, the Knicks did follow this great performance in their last game against the Brooklyn Nets. For the second time within a week the New York Knicks got ran out of the gym facing the Nets.
What makes it more embarrassing is the fact that the Nets have the worst record in the league but yet the Knicks can’t beat them.
ESNY Contributor Matt Castillo comes at you with the video above, explaining how disappointing it is that the Knicks can’t put together a consistent effort.
