St. Bonaventure loses to VCU thanks to students rushing the court prematurely (Video)

St. Bonaventure tragically lost to VCU on Saturday thanks to their students rushing the floor in a premature fashion.

I don’t think the kids at St. Bonaventure will be partying it up on Saturday night quite like they envisioned earlier in the day.

Instead of tales of game-winning 3-point shots and heroics from their beloved Bonnies, the girls will be less likely to get wild thanks to the school’s own transgressions.

After guard Matt Mobley heroicly drained a wing 3-pointer to but the Bonnies up one, the crowd destroyed its team’s chances to win.

There were just 0.4 seconds to go. The game wasn’t over. But because the court was stormed, the officials had no chance but to call a technical.

VCU guard JeQuan Lewis drained the tech and the two teams went into overtime, a frame that saw St. Bonaventure get outscored by six points — final score, 83-77.

Party on tonight you Bonnies faithful, but we all know it won’t be the carefree party it should have been.
