New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz regrets going on the Miami trip and says it wasn’t worth it.

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has abandoned ship by saying that the trip the Giants’ receivers took after the regular season wasn’t the best of ideas.

Before the Giants’ wild-card game against the Green Bay Packers, the receivers went to Miami and partied on a boat with Justin Bieber.

Cruz, one of the receivers who attended, said that the trip was a bad idea on the Timeout with Taylor Rooks podcast on Monday.

“Looking back on it, it definitely wasn’t worth it,” he told Rooks. “At the end of the day, you want to put your mind in a place where you want to succeed at whatever your next task is, especially in a football setting and a football atmosphere.”

“You just win a game,” Cruz added. “Granted it’s New Year’s Day and you’re an adult and you pay your own bills and it’s an off-day, so you want to just go out and enjoy yourself. I think the photo is what made it because a picture is worth a thousand words.”

Head coach Ben McAdoo said that the trip wasn’t a big deal and quarterback Eli Manning made fun of the receivers not wearing any shirts.

The trip was criticized by others, however, who questioned whether the trip would be a distraction in the Giants preparation for the wild-card game against the Packers — a game in which the Giants fell 38-13.

Cruz had 39 receptions for 586 yards and one touchdown this season.
