There is no denying how Jose Bautista is one of the most hated players in baseball, but it seems Chris Davis is not his biggest fan either.

Baltimore Orioles’ first baseman Chris Davis had his choice of words regarding Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista on Saturday at the Orioles’ FanFest event.

When asked by a young fan about his opinion of Bautista, Davis replied “He’s actually a pretty good dude,” then a brief pause followed by “said no one ever.” He would also go onto say that Bautista is “a guy who’s easy to dislike.”

There is a very long history of bitterness between the two sides, which for the most part stems from how Bautista approaches the game with a very cocky attitude which many players don’t appreciate.

When asked about potentially acquiring the right-handed slugger back in December, Orioles general manager Dan Duquette said the move would not happen because the Orioles’ fanbase simply does not like Bautista so he would not fit.

It will be interesting to see this season if the Toronto pitchers remember this comment from Davis and attempt to retaliate against him in any way.
