The New York Yankees revealed their newest cap for spring training, marking homage to their finest tradition.

What is something we all wait impatiently for? After several long months of winter, spring training seems to be just around the corner.

The New York Yankees‘ pitchers and catchers report to Tampa for workouts on Valentine’s Day, while the rest of the team is slated to report on Saturday, February 18.

Well, today we got an early treat with a news leak.

Chris Creamer from Sportslogos.net released an image of the Yankees’ 2017 Spring Training hat, as well as caps for the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians. While the Reds and Indians boast classic and attractive designs, the Yankees hat is quite … different.

Spring Training hats and shirts for the New York Yankees tend to be more subdued, so this design is certainly unique. However, it is a perfect homage to the Yankees and all the tradition their organization is known for.

The pinstriped bill pays respect to the home uniforms and the logo, which has been a staple for so many years, remains the same. It is the perfect combination of pushing the envelope yet respecting lifelong traditions.

For a fan base that is used to tradition, the Yankees did something unique that still shows off just how long-standing their traditions are.

Some aren’t so crazy about the MLB Spring Training garb, especially the almost zebra-like bill. However, it’s only for a short period of time … we think.

The Yankees probably wanted to try something new and it could be a massive hit or a huge miss. What do you think?

Is this too much change for the tradition-obsessed franchise? But perhaps the most important question is, how will these hats look over Clint Frazier‘s red hair?

What? Aren’t we all curious?
