One the top question marks heading into the New York Knicks opening night game in Cleveland surrounded the play of Derrick Rose.
So far, so good.
Not only does the entire organization and fanbase have to worry about the health of newcomer Derrick Rose, they’ve had to sweat it out while he attended to personal affairs in Los Angeles court.
Now that’s over and it’s all about basketball.
Tonight, in Cleveland, while his New York Knicks open the season against LeBron James and the defending NBA champion Cavaliers, Rose has sparkled.
He’s poured in 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor. He’s also contributed with three rebounds, an assist, and a block. Most impressive has been his action on the floor. His cuts are spot on and is looking to get to the rack at every turn.
Just before the half, Rose cleaned up a loose ball:

He also started the season scoring for the Knickerbockers on a nice lefty drive and layup (video above).
After trailing by 11, New York has cut the lead to 48-45 at the half.
