Injuries to New York Jets’ Matt Forte and Breno Giacomini were not originally deemed serious. Is it time to be concerned?

When probable starters Matt Forte (hamstring) and Breno Giacomini (back) went down with injuries earlier in training camp, not many were worried about how serious these ailments were.

Is it time to be concerned?

Once again, the two missed practice on Saturday and people are beginning to worry about whether the duo will be ready for the Jets opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

At the moment, it appears that no one knows when they will return, including coach Todd Bowles, who said he isn’t sure when Forte or Giacomini would return, but believes the two will be ready for week one.

These two injuries are definitely something to keep an eye on going forward. Even though Gang Green has a more than capable replacement for Forte in Bilal Powell, Forte has proved to be a difference maker in his career when he played with Chicago.

Giacomini’s back issues on the other hand are a different story. Backup Brent Qvale hasn’t played a single snap in the NFL and would likely be a liability if Giacomini isn’t available Week 1.
