New York Knicks Add Chasson Randle To Training Camp Roster

The New York Knicks are rounding out their training camp roster. The most recent addition is summer league star Chasson Randle.

The New York Knicks have 20 available training camp roster spots. On Wednesday they signed their 17th player, third to a partially-guaranteed deal, Chasson Randle. The signing was first reported by the NY Daily News.

Randle was a star during summer league in Orlando, leading the team in minutes, points, assists, and steals, while making 11 of 20 attempts from three-point range.

Randle’s proficiency from downtown is a huge asset for the Knicks. The rookie shot 42.5% from distance in Europe last season.

Derrick Rose has struggled mightily from beyond the arc during his career, and Brandon Jennings isn’t much better. The Knicks could use a point guard who can shoot the three.

It’s possible that Randle and Ron Baker will be competing for the 15th and final roster spot. Baker can shoot the three as well, and is a better defender than Randle. Randle has the clear edge in terms of scoring ability and athleticism.

Randle could step in and fill the role that fan favorite Langston Galloway, a player to whom he’s been compared, vacated this summer.
