The New York Knicks made a big splash this week, acquiring former NBA MVP Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls in a trade.

On Friday, Derrick Rose had his New York Knicks introductory press conference and boy, it wasn’t your ordinary Q&A.

First, Rose wrote a letter explaining his journey from Chicago and then now being a Knick. It seemed heartfelt, touching, and looked like a man on a mission looking to make a huge splash in the Big Apple. The latter took over when he dropped the F-bomb on the air.

In addition, Rose wasted no time in trying to recruit his former guys here, especially his good friend Joakim Noah who is currently a free agent that the Knicks are expressing strong interest in.

So judging from what he did today at the press conference with the different things that went on, if you’re a Knicks fan, you have to love Rose’s enthusiasm and passion for wanting to be a Knick.

Rose already seems to have to motivation to play and win here. The hope is that he can stay healthy for most of the season because if he is, even though he may not the MVP player he once was, the 27-year-old is still efficient in the backcourt and can be the best Knicks point guard since Mark Jackson back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Other than God, sports are my biggest love. My teams are the Mets, Knicks, NY Giants, NY Rangers and St Johns basketball (St. John's alumni). I especially love the Mets like crazy, more than any other team and seeing them win the World Series would be a dream come true and definitely the best sports moment. The Knicks are a close second. I also like to write, so combine that with my passion for sports equals a perfect scenario, I would love to do sports writing long term. If not that, then probably sports broadcasting, cause I love to talk sports as well. In addition to writing for ESNY, I'm also currently writing for Metsmerizedonline.
