New York Mets‘ starting pitcher Matt Harvey has nothing to worry about anymore other than New York newspapers taking precise shots at him.

The case of the ‘mystery illness’ has been solved, but that didn’t stop the New York Post and the NY Daily News from digging deep in the already painful wound of the Dark Knight.

Sure, Matt Harvey will be just fine, missing just his scratched-Tuesday Grapefruit League start for a bladder infection that led to one big blood clot he eventually passed.

The back page of Wednesday’s Post-headline read:

“Ya gotta relieve!”…”nOW THAT MATT PEED, HE’S A-OK”

BOOM. ROASTED.

The Post just skewered Harvey and everything he’s kept his bladder full for, like his job and the entertainment of Mets fans everywhere.

How’s that for a spin?

Regardless, Harvey and Metropolitan nation is very relieved.

When catcher Travis D’arnaud said that he had Matt in his prayers, no one knew what to expect.

Luckily, it was nothing that would keep the Dark Knight from missing his Opening Night start this coming Sunday against the defending champion Royals.

Still, I don’t care what you tell me, any diagnosis that contains the words “blood” and “clot” is a serious issue and something to worry about.

But seeing that the scare is more than 24 hours old, jokes don’t fall under the “too-soon” category anymore (that’s how that works, right?)…so, go right ahead New York tabloids, and make us laugh some more.
