New York Islanders @ Boston Bruins: Preview, Tweets, News

John Tavares and the New York Islanders get right back to work on Saturday as they’ll square off against the Boston Bruins in New England.

  • New York Islanders (37-20-8, 82 pts)
  • Boston Bruins (38-23-8, 84 pts)
  • Today, 1:00 PM on NESN, MSG
  • TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts

Could fatigue be the reason the New York Islanders could only muster one point against the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs two nights ago?

It’s possible.

Playing without goalie Jaroslav Halak, the Isles allowed a late game-tying goal and fell in a shootout to collect just one point. Still, it was the 10th time in the last 11 games the squad was able to collect at least one point.

Via Associated Press:

“Every point is so crucial, we saw how close it came for us to have home ice last year and I think that’s something that weighs on our minds,” Islanders captain John Tavares said. “We had a chance to seal the deal and we didn’t.”

Today will be a new challenge: The Bruins in Boston. Puck drops at 1:00 PM ET.
