Cleveland Browns quarterback and much-maligned party man, Johnny Manziel, is now in scolding hot water with the two words of “death threat” being mentioned.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you Johnny Manziel – not anymore known as “Johnny Football,” but “Johnny Dumpster-Fire Manziel.”

The much-maligned Cleveland Browns quarterback is in trouble yet again. This time it deals with his ex-girlfriend, as she claims Manziel issued a death threat on her life:

According to Omar Villafranca of CBS News, police in Fort Worth, Texas, confirmed the incident on Saturday but said the signal-caller was not arrested:

Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal provided a statement from Fort Worth Police:

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported Colleen Elizabeth Crowley (the ex-girlfriend) told police Manziel “struck her several times and seemed to be on drugs.” Manziel told Crowley “shut up or I’ll kill us both,” according to WFAA8 in Dallas.

Manziel told TMZ he denies the allegations and said, “I’m completely stable. I’m safe and secure.”

On Tuesday, Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown released a statement on Manziel:

We’ve been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field. Johnny’s continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time.

ESPN.com’s Kevin Seifert noted the team cannot release Manziel any sooner than next week, per league rules.

“We are aware of it and looking into it,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, per Cabot.

Ulrich provided a statement from Dallas Police:

Whether or not there is serious legs to the case or not remains to be seen. What is known – more than ever – is Manziel has some serious issues to deal with in his personal life.

Coincidence cannot be the common theme when so many troubles keep popping up in one’s life.
