The puck has dropped in the Winter Classic and the Montreal Canadiens have struck first, thanks to Habs’ Desharnais.

The Winter Classic is in full swing and David Decharnais and the Montreal Canadiens tallied the first point.

The Habs have come out strong against the Boston Bruins and are making their presence known in front of Tuukka Rask.

The goal was a result of hard work, as Desharnais found a rebound after the initial Alexei Emelin snap shot.

The Winter Classic has become a heated affair already, as both of these  Original Six Teams have a long and unfriendly history.

The Bruins Brad Marchand is watching this game from the press box after he was suspended for three games for a dirty hit.

Boston certainly misses his grit and will need to improve their defensive play if they want to push back against Montreal.
