New York Mets

New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard and family honored Bartolo Colon in one of the funniest of fashions on Christmas.

New York Mets hard throwing rookie pitcher Noah “Thor” Syndergaard made no secret of his desire of the team to re-sign fellow starter Bartolo Colon.

The Mets front office gave Thor his Christmas present by re-signing the veteran pitcher to a one year deal.

As a result, Syndergaard and his family decided to celebrate Colon’s return in a big way on Christmas Eve, when on that day Thor took to Instagram to post a picture of him and everyone in his family wearing “Big Sexy” shirts in honor of Bartolo. Not only that, but now they have a picture that they can use on their Christmas cards for many years to come.

The “Big Sexy” shirts were quite the hit. Glad to have the big man back this year. Merry Christmas to all! #bartolo

Highly unusual and hilarious to say the least, but it shows the love affair Colon has with his Mets teammates and their fans. Colon has been one of the most popular Mets players since he signed with them in 2013 because of his hitting approach and his jovial personality, not to mention his still effective pitching at age 42. He keeps the clubhouse loose and is a good veteran to youngsters like Syndergaard.

His big frame and attractive personality probably earned him the “Big Sexy” nickname from Thor. Nevertheless it was definitely a hilarious and fun loving moment for the Syndergaard family that fit right in the joyous Christmas season.

Way to go Thor.

Everyone loves Bartolo Colon especially Noah Syndergaard and his household.

Other than God, sports are my biggest love. My teams are the Mets, Knicks, NY Giants, NY Rangers and St Johns basketball (St. John's alumni). I especially love the Mets like crazy, more than any other team and seeing them win the World Series would be a dream come true and definitely the best sports moment. The Knicks are a close second. I also like to write, so combine that with my passion for sports equals a perfect scenario, I would love to do sports writing long term. If not that, then probably sports broadcasting, cause I love to talk sports as well. In addition to writing for ESNY, I'm also currently writing for Metsmerizedonline.
