The good news for Richard Sherman was that he picked up an interception on this play. The bad news was that he was hauled down by his hair.

NFL players are allowed to wear their hair anyway they want. This means they could literally have hair that extends to their ankles should they choose.

That’s the good news for these free-spirited men.

The bad news, however, is their hair is considered to be part of the uniform. This means opponents can do whatever they choose with the long locks. And considering how sticky these gloves are in today’s game, the risk of being pulled down by your hair is a real one.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman now fully understands this after today. In his team’s 35-6 victory over the Baltimore Ravens Sherman was dragged down by his hair by Chris Matthews after an early fourth-quarter interception (video above).
