New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have been hit with the injury bug losing Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Hickey and Steve Bernier. Just how bad is it?

The New York Islanders are poised for another solid season and are preparing to take the next step in becoming an NHL elite.

This is why the recent news surrounding goaltender Jaroslav Halak, d-man Thomas Hickey and Right Wing Steve Bernier is so unsettling. Each have gone down with injuries putting a kink in the team’s armor.

Isles fans can exhale as Halak’s injury is day-to-day and should have no issue being between the pipes as the puck drops opening night.

As for Hickey, he will miss four weeks with an upper-body injury and Bernier will miss 1-2 weeks with a lower-body injury.

Right now Jack Capuano has not said who will replace Hickey but I am sure Islander fans would love to see Ryan Pulock get an opportunity to make the big club out of camp.

In other camp news.  The Islanders are trimming the roster as they sent their 5th pick in the 2014 draft Michael Dal Colle to his junior OHL team along with another forward Anthony Beauvillier.

Currently Islander fans main concern is getting Halak back and ready to open the season.
