Amidst the ongoing rape allegations against Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, the grand jury has been postponed.

Much to my own surprise, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane seems to be getting deeper into a mess that can’t be cleaned up. The Buffalo News is reporting that the grand jury investigation is being postponed, but here’s the kicker: the reason for the postponement is that there may be settlement talks between Kane’s attorney and the victim’s.

The grand jury investigation was scheduled for 2 PM ET today but that was abruptly ended. A new time and date has not been established, yet. The new grand jury hearing, of course, would come only if there is no settlement between the 26 year-old woman and Kane.

CBS Sports’ Chris Peters believes that any settlement that is reached would result no charges being pressed against Patrick Kane, which would also limit the NHL to further disciplinary action against one of the League’s best players.

As this situation unravels, Patrick Kane is finding himself more and more under stress. His image is starting to become cloudy, however I’d say fans will still want to see him play and have him offer what he can to one of the NHL’s Original Six teams. The next few days will determine a lot for Patrick Kane.

I love watching sports, specifically teams in New York. I'll root for all New York teams, but the New York Rangers and hockey are my number one. I am an avid hockey fan and enjoy expressing my opinion on the Blueshirts, when they are playing good and bad.
