Thank god for Sunday’s 6-5 victory. If the New York Mets had suffered a loss at home and gotten swept by the lackluster Boston Red Sox, folks would’ve started scratching their heads.

Nevertheless, the Mets did come away with the win and salvage the final game of a three-game set. Now they’ll welcome in the next terrible team on the ledger, their own personal whipping-boys in the Philadelphia Phillies.

New York has taken 10 of 11 games against Philly this season, including a four-game wipeout last week at Citizens Bank Park.

Bartolo Colon will get the nod as he’ll face off against youngster Jerad Eickhoff.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM ET.
