WFAN radio host Joe Benigno was tricked today into thinking the acronym ‘FLUMP’ was a real sabermetrician stat, and goes nuts on it.

Bro. Joe Benigno just got had again.

The oftentimes hilarious, yet unapologetic WFAN midday host with Evan Roberts is currently filling in for the sports pope himself, Mike Francesa on this very fine Thursday. His partner today is longtime WFAN producer Gregg Giannotti, who currently has his own radio show in Pittsburgh.

Perhaps to pass the time, Giannotti and others decided to get together and trick the always classic Benigno into thinking MLB sabermetricians were at it again, this time with a new stat called “FLUMP.”

Listen to this piece of radio gold:

These tricky fellas knew how much Benigno is stuck in his old baseball ways and can’t stand the sound of hearing names such as Billy Beane, Rick Peterson; and stats such as WAR and BABIP.

Remember, this is the same guy who howled at the moon the moment he saw Caitlyn Jenner make her public debut.

Well done.
