On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox squared off against the Toronto Blue Jays. They also battled the sun in hilarious fashion.

The top headline coming from the Toronto Blue Jays destroying the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park today was that this marked Toronto’s franchise record 11th straight victory.

These boys are simply sizzling, and at the wrong time for the New York Mets as they come into Citi on Monday.

Nonetheless, if this was the top headline, then the story that provided hilarity was that of the Red Sox defense.

In the top of the fifth-inning, Blue Jays first-baseman Chris Colabello hit a routine popup deep for the second-baseman to range back for. Dustin Pedroia – as sure handed as he is – would easily make the catch and end the inning.

That is, unless the bright shining sun of Boston decided to interfere.

Four Red Sox, Xander Bogaerts, Alexandro De Aza, Rusney Castillon and Pedroia, all got involved in the towering popup to only add onto the comedy of riches that video provides.

Edwin Encarnacion scored all the way from first on the play and the Jays tacked on three more runs in the inning. In the end, Boston fell harmlessly to the mighty Jays by the final of 13-5.
