Thanks to a Josh Hamilton walk-off double, Texas Rangers reporter Emily Jones received a bath of red Gatorade goodness today.

Who says only a coach deserves a Gatorade bath?

A tradition that was made famous by the 1986 New York Giants, dousing head coach Bill Parcells, the Gatorade bath isn’t just one that signals success, it shows appreciation and affection.

Today, after much maligned slugger Josh Hamilton put his imprint on his return to the Texas Rangers, reporter Emily Jones unsuspectingly got in on the fun:

Hamilton hit a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the ninth-inning to give his Rangers the 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. It was a pinch-hit appearance no less.

So, afterwards, during the post-game interview, every onlooker expected something to come Hamilton’s way.

A pie maybe, or some other food in the dessert realm? No, a straight Gatorade bath. Better yet, the team prepared two baths. A blue one for Hamilton and a red one for the lady, Emily Jones.

And for those who don’t know, this is nothing new for Jones. She’s always remained a target for Rangers fun and games through the years.
